Focus and Scope

Sri Lankan Journal of Infectious Diseases (ISSN 2012-8169 (Print) 2448-9654 (Online) is the official journal of the Sri Lankan Society for Microbiology (SSM), a multi-disciplinary association of those with an interest in microbiology. Published biannually at present, the Sri Lankan Journal of Infectious Diseases seeks to provide a peer-reviewed medium for communication of findings and perspectives among the professional disciplines involved in the field of infectious diseases. Its goals are to increase conversations about infectious diseases in order to improve both management and prevention of infectious diseases in Sri Lanka and elsewhere and to facilitate discussion on microbiology in relation to resource limitations.

The journal does NOT charge an article submission fee.

All articles published in the journal are deposited with Crossref

Publication Frequency

The journal will be published biannually with the first issue in July 2011.


Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.


Archiving Policy

This journal is available for LOCKSS harvesting, to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. See LOCKSS harvesting start page.
